Blue Mountains/Sydney

Strapped the camper top in place and left for Sydney. Stopped at a small roadside lookout to see the 3 Sisters. What a beautiful view!!!
Arrived at Lane Cove River Tourist Park and set up the camper. Who would have thought you could stay in a National Park in Sydney??? Really nice park with great facilities and lots of trees.
After some grocery shopping we spent the afternoon around camp. Our camp site is right next to the playground, which we thought would be great, however by our kids bedtime we were fed up with all the noise. There was a big family group having a reunion in the 3 cabins near us; they were having a great time but were very very noisy!

Sydney adventure day!!! Lucky for us it was Family Fun Day on public transport today so uit cost $10 for all four of us to travel all day on our “Magic Tickets”. The kids had never seen automatic ticket barriers before so they thought it was magical that the tickets were returned to them each time. We rode about 5 trains and a return ferry across Sydney Harbour to Watsons Bay.
The kids loved Sydney Tower, especially the 4D ride.
Sydney Aquarium was also good but very crowded. Thank you Grandma & Grandad for the Explore 4 Pass which gave us entry to Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Wildlife World, Sydney Tower and Ocean world Manly. We only made it to the Aquarium and Tower, but it was still great.
Went to visit the little Puppet Shop near Darling Harbour, which I had told the kids about, only to discover that it no longer existed. 🙁 Lots of tears from Amy. Went to the nearby markets and Liam bought a souvenir boomerang instead of a puppet. Unfortunately Amy couldn’t find anything she liked, a sad trip back to camp.

Caught the train to Luna Park today. Kids went to Coney Island but since Amy was only wearing sandals she couldn’t go on half the rides. Fortunately, a ride on the roller coaster with Mum was enough to cheer her up. 🙂
Planned on having pizza for dinner, from the lovely looking pizza shop in the caravan park. Dinner plans foiled, pizza shop closed on Mondays. Grrrr!
All was not lost though, we made a surprisingly good dinner with tinned stew, baked beans and tinned mushies. Have to remember that recipe for another time.
