Great spot at Kings Canyon Resort overlooking the McDonnell ranges. Nice campground, heaps of amenities blocks and all clean.
The four of us did the 6km Kings Canyon Rim Walk today. Spectacular scenery!!! Really something you need to see yourself – I don’t think a camera can truly capture it.
The kids did really well on the walk. The first section of the walk is really steep, mostly rock steps, but we made it up to the top in about 20 minutes with only 2 brief stops.
The canyon is awesome, with huge sandstone cliffs.
The domes were also quite spectacular – really makes me want to head west and visit the Bungle Bungles.
Really easy to get lost up there, we were glad for the little arrow markers showing the way. Really loved that it’s not all fenced off with warning signs everywhere -you can go as close to the edge as you want. That being said we were very strict about how close we let the kids go. 🙂
Thought the kids would have used up all their energy on the 6km canyon walk – silly me! They spent the afternoon at the playground and swimming in the freezing pool. They are both loving the extra freedom they have on this trip.
Another beautiful sunset over the McDonnell ranges viewed from our campsite. Lucky us!!!!
