Longreach

Posted on Jul 22, 2018 by |

With the school holidays over it was time to get the kids started on their distance ed adventure, so we headed on to Longreach and a powered en-suite site at the Longreach Tourist Park. It looks much the same as last time we stayed here in 2013 – lots of people & lots of dust. 🙂 We were pleased to see that Jack & Jill the resident brolgas were still hanging out in the campground.

We didn’t really do any sightseeing this time as we had done all that last time we were here. I highly recommend the Qantas museum. We went for a quick spin into town and explored the main street before a visit to the huge free camp just out of town on the banks of the Thomson River. Lots of vans there also but few amenities. I much prefer our site in town.

The kids also spent a fair bit of time hanging out in the van with Ruby. Way more fun than schoolwork! 🙂
