We are so fortunate for the rain that came through the area about a month ago. There are wildflowers everywhere; yellow, white, pink, purple and orange. They certainly make all the drives and walks we’ve been doing much prettier.
Amy just asked why the GPS keeps talking about the “Stupid Highway” instead of the Stuart Highway. Lol
We had planned to stay in Kulgera, but didn’t think the pub or all the flies were all that appealing when we pulled in at lunchtime, so we kept going. We finally stopped for lunch at the rest stop at the border.
We made Amy run from the Northern Territory to South Australia. We discovered that the flies at Kulgera weren’t so bad after all. It felt like I had fly gloves on while I was carrying the dishes back to the car. Yuk!!!! There were even flies on the front of the car.
Arrived at the Marla Roadhouse around 4pm. It’s much nicer than Kulgera and even had some grass; can’t park on the grass though. Nice clean modern amenities.
